Last week, Newmont published its 2015 Social and Environmental Performance Report, Beyond the Mine, which provides a comprehensive update on our efforts to create value and improve lives through sustainable and responsible mining.
Our Beyond the Mine Report transparently details our performance over time in some of the areas that matter most to our stakeholders and our business, including: human rights; local employment and business opportunities; water; and energy and climate change.
Reporting on our sustainability progress helps us better understand the economic, social and environmental impacts of our mining operations; provides opportunities to identify areas in which we have more work to do; and drives improvement towards leading the industry in shareholder returns, safety, social responsibility and environmental stewardship.
In addition to regional performance metrics and future focus sections, this year’s Beyond the Mine report features a case study library where readers can meet people from Newmont’s operations. Take a look at this quick preview of the Beyond the Mine report website:
We encourage you to explore the report and to provide honest feedback using the online survey included on the website. Follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and Twitter, and join the conversation by going #BeyondTheMine.
