Having spent most of his professional life in Nevada, Gavin Jangard, Newmont North America’s Regional Vice President, Legal Counsel, is right at home in his role with Newmont.
Over the last five years, Gavin has drawn from his rich experience in other sectors to serve the company. Before joining Newmont, Gavin worked in various parts of Nevada for 18 years in commercial litigation, regulatory compliance and transactional legal affairs. He has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from University of Utah and a law degree from Ohio State University.
Along with his team of experts, Gavin advises and supports Newmont’s business units in operating safely and in compliance with legal requirements. Gavin and his team provide critical legal insights into issues ranging from environmental compliance, project development, land uses, human resources, ethics and other business related legal issues
Gavin and his team are eagerly helping integrate the Cripple Creek & Victor mine (CC&V) into the Newmont management system and providing legal advice on further developing the Long Canyon project in Nevada. They are also helping advance initiatives for Sustainability and External Relations, Supply Chain, Human Resources, ethics and Government Relations in support of Newmont’s values of safety, integrity, sustainability, inclusion and responsibility.
